Writing journals and basic updates
I did not post for a long time now but does it matter?
No, of course it doesn't. I looked at my view count and I started with 34 views and now I am rationed to 1...
Anyway, as writing updates, I would like to mention that I am 7k words in.
WOOOHOOO, GET THE FIRECRACKERS!! No, no one is going to do that, I've got a long way to go but whatever.
I'll reveal the book cover, because that's what I have been working on. Other than that, I covered my writing journal.
Yes , that's what I wanted to talk about. Writing journals that is.
So, what are these journals that writers (or just me) give importance to?
Writing Journals or Writing books are good ol' notebooks that you write all the information you require for the book you are writing.
What is so special about these slabs of paper bound together in a spine?
Writing journals are your space to map out ideas, design characters, plots, scenes, and much more. Writing journals are meant to be dedicated to writing but it doesn't mean that it is a book with just writing in it. I personally love going crazy with it. Keeping a writers journal has to be fun. I filled an entire notebook with art and sketches and I assure you it was absolutely outrageous.
I used tie-dye powder and white paint and swirled it around. Most people who looked at it commented that it was their favourite and some said it looked like intestines. I had many pages that I exceptionally liked and I will be attaching it down here somewhere.
These pages belong to my old writing journal and so don't expect to see this in the final draft.
As I promised, the book cover's here.
For making it to the end, I will give you some bonus writing.
At night, Percy was a pain. He complained about how mattresses that are too soft are bad for your back and that did not mean too hard ones are good either. The mattress was hard. At some point, I told Percy to stop.
‘I can’t,’ Percy said. ‘There are too many stuff eating my brain from the insides. Don’t blame me,’
‘Which insect?’ I asked in the darkness.
‘Thoughts,’
‘I asked the kind of insects. I already know they are insects but which one?’
‘Shut up, Emma, I totally hate your jokes. Mum texted saying that she knew Lucy Englehart before. I think I remember her… not well though,’ Percy said. ‘I think it was a funeral?’
‘Hey, Percy, which funeral was it? Do you remember the one El cried in. Her teacher or something?’
‘No, we did not know who died actually,’ Percy was sitting up now. ‘Yes! It was Lucy Englehart's youngest son,’
‘Mary’s cousin?’
‘Why do you keep talking about Mary?’
‘Hm…’
‘Now you see, is Mrs Englehart doing some sort of…I don’t know,’
‘What’s that supposed to mean?’
Until next time, (which is hopefully soon),
Naba
